Riverside stair lifts, installed right the first time

New and used straight, curved and outdoor stair lifts, professionally installed so you can stay safely in the home you love. Buy, sell and trade. Rent, own and finance. Electropedic, since 1964.

A stair lift is only as good as its installation

A stair lift carries you up and down your staircase seated in a comfortable powered chair. Installing one is not simply attaching equipment to stairs. It is a planned process combining safety, comfort, engineering and long-term reliability.

Even premium stair lifts can develop unusual noises, rough travel, charging problems or early wear if they are poorly aligned or secured. Our installers calibrate every system, inspect every fastener and verify every function, so you get years of smooth, quiet, dependable rides.

How we install your stair lift

Six careful stages, from the first look at your staircase to years of trouble-free rides.

  1. Evaluate the staircase

We measure your stairs, review your mobility goals and recommend the right lift, features and budget for your home.

  2. Mount the rail

Brackets are fastened directly into the stair treads, not the wall. Every section is leveled and aligned, with safe walking clearance and nothing blocking doors or hallways.

  3. Install the chair and drive

The carriage, seat, armrests, footrest and swivel go on next. Motors, gears and rollers are adjusted for quiet, consistent travel, and batteries are connected to the charging contacts.

  4. Connect safety systems and controls

Seat belt, obstruction sensors, emergency stop, swivel locks, overspeed protection and safety edges are set, and wired or wireless call-send controls are programmed for each level.

  5. Test every function

We ride the lift, check charging, controls, sensors, folding parts and track alignment, and listen for any noise or resistance before you take your first ride.

  6. Care for it for life

Occasional inspections, battery testing, cleaning and lubrication keep it running smoothly. We show you how to use the seat belt, footrest, swivel and charging positions.

What makes up a stair lift

Rail
The track the chair travels on, mounted to the staircase rather than the wall.
Chair
Seat, armrests, seat belt, swivel seat and footrest.
Carriage
Drive system, motor, transmission, batteries, rollers and electronic controls.
Charging stations
At the top and bottom of the rail to keep the batteries charged.
Call-send controls
Summon or park the chair from any level of the home.

Options for your staircase

Extended rail
Carries the chair past the landing so you get on and off farther from the edge of the stairs.
Manual hinged rail
Fold the bottom of the rail up when it would block a doorway or hallway.
Powered hinged rail
The same, raised and lowered automatically with no physical effort.
Power swivel seat
Turns the chair at the top landing to reduce twisting, ideal for arthritis or balance concerns.
Power folding seat and footrest
Folds the seat, arms and footrest automatically to keep the stairs open for walking.
